Lizard Creek Campground

family camping that's fun and memorable!

COVID-19 Mitigation Plan:

Finding the balance between enjoying the outdoors and staying safe during the current COVID- 19 pandemic is only possible when everyone is abiding by the same precautions. It is critical that all of us adhere to these safety guidelines to ensure the well being of our campers, our staff and our community.

We are taking this pandemic seriously. Our county is now in the “green” phase but this does not mean the virus has gone away. We still need to observe safe practices to limit the spread of COVID-19. Our mitigation rules and procedures have been developed using guidelines from CDC, PA Department of Heath and Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA). We expect all our campers to follow these guidelines. Anyone choosing not to follow these rules and procedures will be asked to leave the campground immediately without refund.

  • If you are sick or have been exposed to someone who has or is suspected to have COVID-19, please stay home
  • Practice social distancing (minimum of 6 feet apart) at all times with people outside of your immediate family group
  • Campers and staff are required to wear a mask during any face-to-face interaction
  • Everyone is required to wear a mask inside buildings including the store, bathhouse and recreation hall
  • Store will be open Wednesday-Sunday. Hours will be posted on the store door
  • Visitors are allowed but they must be registered before entering the campground. Make arrangements in advance if the store will be closed when your visitor plans to arrive. This is essential for contact tracing, security and is required by our insurance company
  • You may socialize with friends on other sites as long as you do not exceed 8 people per site and you practice social distancing (6 feet) with people outside your family group
  • Lower bathhouse will be open from 2pm Thursday to 10:30 am Sunday. It will be sanitized daily with a CDC approved disinfectant. The bathhouse will be cleaned at 10am and will be closed for 45 mins from 10:30 am to 11:15 am for sanitation
  • Upper bathhouse will be open during pool hours. It will be sanitized daily with a CDC approved disinfectant prior to opening
  • Playground, pavilion and porches are open for use. Social distancing is required and masks are recommended
  • Recreation Hall will be open for use Wednesday-Sunday starting July 1st. Social distancing is required and masks are recommended. High touch surfaces will be sanitized daily with a CDC approved disinfectant
  • Pool is open with the following additional precautions:
    • maintain social distancing with people outside your group at all times
    • number of people in the pool area is limited so social distancing can be observed
    • pool furniture will be sanitized daily using a CDC approved disinfectant
    • upper bathhouse will be open during pool hours
  • Children who cannot comply with the above restrictions must be accompanied by an adult whenever they leave their site
  • Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask or protective garment that covers their nose and mouth anytime they go outside or interact with people outside their immediate family group
  • Campers are encouraged to buy groceries and fill up their vehicle in their own neighborhood to minimize the amount of interaction with the broader community
  • Practice good hygiene: wash hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol. Avoid surfaces that are touched frequently such as door knobs and handrails
  • Rental units are available, but there will be no back-to-back rentals. We use CDC approved disinfectants. People renting the units must bring their own dish soap, personal soap, linens and other personal items

We know that camping is going to be different this season. We hope this is temporary but, for now, these are the guidelines and they must be followed strictly so campgrounds can remain open and we can limit the spread of the virus. Thank you for working with us to create a safe environment for people to enjoy the outdoors.

Stay safe,
Mark and Grace Clayton
